In this day and age there are so many wonderful pieces of work out there waiting to be published and many publishing companies are just so overwhelmed, and many new talent are left unheard. After much encouragement, I have decided to self publish. My work has been accepted by two publishing companies. You might ask, "why self publish instead of traditional publishing?" In self publishing all money used to design and produce the finished book that is ready for sale and distribution are incurred by me the author. Publishing my work this way, allows me to retain all rights to my work; creative and otherwise. Did you know that E.L. James, the author of "Fifty Shades of Grey" self-published it first through a small Australian company, which released it on eBook and print-on demand. After extreme popularity, the rights were acquired by Vintage Books. You'd be surprised how many authors got their start this way!
