Reflection: 🪞
This past year has truly been hard on us all! The Covid pandemic has caused so much loss. Jobs gone, businesses and schools closed; the unbelievable amount of death and sorrow due to the virus, social injustice, and political unrest. History threatens to repeat, unless we learn, that each life is worthy to be treasured in the same way for all people. In the end, what affects one will soon infect all. We should all have access to healthy food, clean clothing, a decent safe place to live, education, and good healthcare that is dependable and affordable. Everyone should have the ability to work to make a true sustainable wage for a honest living to care for themselves and their families.
Many black and brown people have not felt that worth in their daily lives. But in these past months we have all suffered in some way, and have felt a need to have our spirits lifted because of so much despair.
I pray that once again we will be able to all hold our heads high
moving forward.
We have bravely made history, in choosing a new beginning with so many first; the first woman Vice President, Kamala Harris, our first African American and first Asian American Vice President.
Our hearts were already full then we watched in awe as a beautiful brown skinned young girl, Amanda Gorman, commanded the attention
of us all. Her fluid truths woven so eloquently, gave evidence of a hopeful future climbing beyond this country’s too recent hurtful past.
Enlisting each one of us to choose to see the light.
If we are unable to see the light within others, we must become the light. It is my true hope that we will all live our lives in a better way.
A way that will encourage not disparage! A way that we CAN live together, and learn how to inspire one another to do so much more!
